Greetings!
Climate change is the major drive for increasing the existing vulnerabilities and people‟s ability to sustain their sources of livelihood, especially in poor and under-developed countries. In order to counteract these trends, climate adaptation and mitigation activities, including efforts designed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, need to go hand-in-hand with long-term investment in development. Climate change is inherently unfair. The countries and communities which are most at risk from its impacts, and are least able to adapt, are those which have contributed least to the problem. If poorer nations pursue economic growth by the same means from which industrialized nations have benefitted such as by burning coal and clearing forests they will only add to the climate change problem. Climate change is a scientific, health, political, economic, national security, environmental, moral and religious issue, among many others. Empowering the communities through knowledge on climate change through public awareness and education is the only way to reduce the vulnerability..
Keeping this in mind the present issue features a scientific article on impact of climate change on marine life and ecosystems. In addition to other interesting topics such as dose of nature for health and wellbeing, water quality impacts of climate change on rivers, effects of plastic pollution on marine microbes, Antarctic marine life recovery, invasion and many more are included. Hope this issue imparts knowledge on climate change to the readers!
